Black Sea

The Black Sea is an inland sea of the Atlantic Ocean. It covers an area of 423,000 km² and its maximum depth is approximately 2,210 m. 70% of the Black Sea’s area is below the shelf level. The average water temperature in winter is 6–8 °C, in summer 25 °C; the average salinity is around 18 per mille.
