Samsung has introduced its new generation of foldable smartphones, which focuses on enhancing features.
During its summer presentation, the manufacturer officially unveiled the new generation of its foldable smartphones, once again pushing the boundaries of design and performance in this category. The new models, the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, come with an improved, slimmer design, more powerful processors, and above all, a deeper integration of Galaxy AI. This year, however, the company also surprised with a strategic portfolio expansion, adding the Z Flip 7 FE model.
The most anticipated new product is the Z Flip 7, which has become the company’s thinnest Flip in history. When folded, it measures only 13.7 mm, and its weight is a pleasant 188 grams. The key improvement, visible at first glance, is the FlexWindow front display. It has grown to a 4.1″ diagonal, covering almost the entire front of the device, which opens up new possibilities for its use when closed.
Users can not only check notifications and calendars directly from it but also write messages, control the Gemini Live assistant with just their voice, or use a growing number of third-party applications thanks to the Now Bar notification panel. When opened, it reveals the main 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. Both panels, front and main, offer a peak brightness of 2600 nits and an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth motion and excellent readability even in direct sunlight.
The durability of the construction is ensured by the proven Armor FlexHinge, an Armor Aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protective glass. The phone is based on the new 3nm Exynos 2500 processor, which brings higher performance and better energy efficiency. The battery has been increased to a capacity of 4300 mAh, the highest in the history of Flip models. A new feature is the support for DeX mode, which turns the phone into a full-fledged workstation when connected to a monitor.

The camera system relies on a proven combination of a 50 MP wide-angle and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, with the image quality managed by the advanced ProVisual Engine, improved night photography, and creative tools like Portrait Studio. Sales of the Z Flip 7 begin on July 25, 2025. The version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost €1229 / $1199, while the model with 512 GB of storage will be priced at €1349 / $1349. Blue, black, and red color variants will be available.
Alongside the flagship model, a more affordable Z Flip 7 FE variant is also being introduced. Its goal is to appeal to customers who desire the foldable phone experience but at a more favorable price point. This model offers a 6.7″ main display and is equipped with the same 50 MP main camera as its more expensive sibling. It is powered by the Exynos 2400 processor and a 4000 mAh battery.
With its features and design, it strongly resembles last year’s Flip 6 model, confirming the company’s strategy of using proven components to achieve a lower price. It will be available in elegant black and white colors. The Z Flip 7 FE will also go on sale in Slovakia on July 25, 2025. The version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of storage will cost €1019 / $999, and the version with 256 GB of storage will be priced at €1079 / $1079.
The second main model introduced is the premium Z Fold 7, which is Samsung’s thinnest and lightest Fold-type foldable. It weighs 215 grams, which is less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and has a thickness of 8.9 mm when folded, and even 4.2 mm when unfolded. The front 6.5″ display has a new, wider 21:9 aspect ratio, making it more comfortable to operate like a regular smartphone when closed.

When unfolded, the main internal display reaches a diagonal of 8″ and offers a maximum brightness of 2600 nits. A significant change from previous generations, however, is the absence of support for the S Pen stylus, which, according to available information, was necessitated by the new, extremely thin construction. Increased durability is provided by an improved hinge, new Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front display, and a titanium layer reinforcing the main flexible display.
Performance is provided by a specially modified Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, which has a 41% more powerful neural processing unit (NPU) compared to the previous generation. A 4400 mAh battery is available. The biggest hardware leap, however, is the camera. For the first time in the Z series, a rear camera with a 200 MP main sensor is used, known from the top models of the Galaxy S Ultra series.
It is complemented by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Sales of the Z Fold 7 start on July 25, 2025. The recommended retail prices are set at €2149 / $2149 for the version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage, €2269 / $2269 for the version with 512 GB of storage, and €2589 / $2599 for the top model with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage.
All three new models run on the Android 16 operating system with the latest One UI 8 user interface. The improved Galaxy AI brings features like Gemini Live, which can react in real-time to what the camera sees and provide relevant information, whether it’s choosing clothes or planning a vacation.

On the large display of the Fold 7, the One UI 8 interface allows for more effective multitasking, for example, by displaying the results of AI work in a separate window without overlapping the original content. The software also includes enhanced privacy protection called KEEP, which creates special encrypted storage for individual applications, thus protecting sensitive data. Samsung is also strengthening network security using post-quantum cryptography when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks.
