All three new models come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor.
The new additions to the manufacturer’s portfolio – Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra – bring significant improvements in performance, artificial intelligence, and design. The new chipset delivers a 37% increase in CPU performance, a 30% increase in GPU performance, and a 40% faster Neural Processing Unit (NPU) compared to the previous generation.
Samsung has decided to move away from 8GB of RAM, and all S25 models now start with 12GB of RAM as the standard for all configurations. The S25 is available with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of storage, while the S25+ offers 256GB and 512GB options. The S25 Ultra is available in three storage configurations: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
The S25 and S25+ retain the same display sizes as their predecessors – a 6.2″ display for the S25 and a 6.7″ display for the S25+. However, both models are 0.4 mm thinner and lighter, which improves their ergonomics and comfort during use. The S25+ model has a 1440p+ resolution, while the S25 offers 1080p+.
The S25 Ultra is equipped with a 6.9″ display (an increase from the previous 6.8″), with a Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. The display features Vision Booster and Adaptive Color Tone technologies, which guarantee vivid colors and excellent readability even in direct sunlight. The display is protected by the aforementioned Gorilla Armor 2.
The S25 is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery, while the S25+ has a larger 4900 mAh battery. Charging remains the same as in previous models – the S25+ supports 45W fast charging (65% in 30 minutes) and the S25 supports 25W charging (50% in 30 minutes). Wireless charging is supported at 15W.
The S25 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery capacity and supports, like the S25+, 45W wired (65% in 30 minutes) and 25W wireless charging. The smartphones come with the One UI 7 user interface, built on the Android 15 system. The manufacturer promises 7 years of operating system and security patch updates.
The prices of the smartphones are as follows: Galaxy S25 in the 12GB/128GB version for €899 / $979, 12/256 for €959 / $1,039, and 12/512 for €1079 / $1,169. The S25+ in the 12GB/256GB version is priced at €1149 / $1,249, and the 12/512 version at €1269 / $1,379. The top-tier S25 Ultra starts at €1149 / $1,249 for the 12GB RAM/256GB ROM configuration, €1569 / $1,699 for 12/512, and the highest 12GB RAM/1TB ROM version is €1809 / $1,959.
The manufacturer is also adding artificial intelligence features to the phones, which will fundamentally change the way users interact with their phone and the surrounding world. Thanks to integration, the phones can process and interpret text, spoken language, photos, and videos.
The updated Circle to Search feature simplifies searching based on the current context. In the current version, it can recognize phone numbers, emails, and web addresses on the display, so a single touch of the screen is enough for the user to make a call, send an email, or visit a website. The phones can suggest further steps based on the context during a search.
Pressing and holding the side button activates the Gemini assistant service, a collaboration between Google and Samsung. For example, you can search for the game schedule of your favorite sports team in the browser and, with a simple command, save all items to your calendar.
In addition to these new features, other Galaxy AI tools and functions for communication, work, and creative activities have also been improved. The Call Transcription feature automatically transcribes and summarizes phone calls. Writing assistance services, such as text summarization or automatic note formatting, can be used whenever text is displayed on the screen.
Drawing Assistant offers new ways to turn simple ideas into elaborate works – just sketch it, or describe and explain what it should look like. In the age of artificial intelligence, personalized features cannot be separated from quality security. In the S25 series, personalization is handled by the Personal Data Engine technology.
This technology analyzes data and customizes the phone’s behavior to the user based on their preferences and habits. The adjustments affect a wide range of applications and will be appreciated by anyone who wants to use a common language command to find an old photo in the gallery or the practical Now Brief feature, which displays various suggestions on the Now Bar on the lock screen.
The S25 series models also raise the bar in mobile photography – the high resolution of the sensors and the ProVisual Engine technology are the main contributors. The new ultra-wide-angle camera has a resolution of 50 MPx, a change from the previous 12 MPx. In the default setting, the camera works with 10-bit HDR with 8-bit technology.
Other interesting features include advanced photo or video editing. The Audio Eraser feature simplifies the removal of unwanted sound from videos. The system allows you to select individual sound categories (e.g., voice, crowd noise, wind, music, nature sounds, or background noise) and mute or completely eliminate them separately.
If you want to feel like you’re using a DSLR when taking photos, the phones allow for creative work with depth of field thanks to the Virtual Aperture function in the popular Expert RAW mode. When shooting videos, the new phones support creative enthusiasm with the Galaxy Log function, which expands the possibilities of color transitions similarly to professional programs for videographers.
The Portrait Studio feature has also been improved, allowing you to create personalized avatars with realistic facial expressions. Analog-style filters have also been added, which make photos and videos look like they are from old times. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra mobile phones will go on sale in North America and Europe on February 7, 2025.
